Occupational Health - Needlestick injury information

We have campaigned for many years regarding issues surrounding occupational health and the Dental Team across Lancashire. The ICB has commissioned Occupational Health support for Primary Care Providers to assist with the management of Blood Borne Virus (BBV) exposure incidents, including sharps, splash and inoculation injuries.

We welcome the final publication of the Blood-Borne Virus Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Primary Care Practices across Lancashire and South Cumbria. This comprehensive document includes cover details and key contacts, practical advice and procedural guidance, as well as template incident report forms to support consistent and safe management of needlestick and exposure incidents.

Please see a copy of the communication sent from the ICC here
